Our Little Cinderella Swiffer

All is well here on the home front. We've had a few days of nice weather and a few days of cooler weather. Karalyn continues to be adjusting well to her new toddler class. She has decided that she is too big for her highchair now. So, we've graduated her to a big chair with a booster seat. She seems much happier and not so confined.

Here is Karalyn in her new chair.

We've also discovered that Karalyn might just turn out to be a little domestic diva. As I mentioned in the last post, she likes to help cook. Whenever I'm in the kitchen that's where she seems to want to be, seeing what's happening on the stove. She loves looking in the refridgerator and freezer. It doesn't seem to be only cooking that she is interested in, but cleaning too! She has always been fascinated with the dishwasher. But yesterday, she got the swiffer floor duster out of the pantry and proceeded to swiffer the floor. It is a bit big for her, but that doesn't seem to deter her at all!

Currently, Karalyn is also fascinated with the laundry basket. She likes to put all the clothes back in when I am trying to fold them. Maybe she'll soon decide to help me fold them too!

Here are a few pics of Karalyn helping Daddy get the mail.

As you can see, Karalyn has become a good helper around here.

That's all for now....

Fun in Boxes

We had a really nice weekend. It was a little bit warmer and sunnier than it was during the week. We paid a visit to our new Costco on Saturday. We all had a good time browsing around and trying all the free samples. Once we got back home Karalyn found a new toy in one of the boxes.

It kept her well entertained for quite a while.....

She had a fun time. Although, every time she tried to climb out, the box got stuck to her backside.

Karalyn spent most of the rest of the weekend sleeping. She took very long naps. Either we are too boring for her or she was just tired out after all of her new experiences in the toddler class.

Karalyn is learning so many new things. She has become a great "helper." Her favorite tasks include getting the mail and packing Daddy's lunch.

She also enjoys making and eating pancakes with Mommy. We typically make them on the weekend together. Here is a snapshot of her enjoying them.

As I mentioned before, Karalyn has been transitioning to the toddler room. She spent most of the day over there today. Today was her first day to stay for naptime. They sleep on cots in "todds" as oposed to cribs, so that was a new experience for her.

That's all for now....

Inspiration

Well, it looks like I am joining the times--I have finally created a blog for our family. I've been thinking about it since before Karalyn was born, as a way for our family and friends to keep updated with what is going on in our lives. I have to thank Tara for unknowingly inspiring me to finally do this. Tara recently created a page for her and Dan. There was a link on her page to create your own blog, so since it is free and I had a rare free evening, here it is. I can't promise to keep it up to date, but I'm willing to give it a try. It's all a grand experiment!

Okay, on to our family news. As I mentioned before, I have a free evening tonight. Dave is out having a guys night with a friend and Karalyn is sleeping soundly. She started her transition to the toddler classroom this week. It seems to be going pretty well, but after a full week she is exhausted.

Work for me has been extremely busy lately. I am looking forward to next month when it should slow down some. I am also looking foward to Spring coming. I think I am looking so forward to the Spring so we can all play outdoors. We didn't get out much last summer since Karalyn couldn't wear sunscreen. So once the weather is nice, we are going to have lots of fun.

Well, it's about time for bed. More to come later. I'll leave you with a picture of our beautiful little girl from Easter.
